Dental crowns are tooth shaped caps that are placed over a tooth to restore the shape, size and functionality of your bite. A crown is often needed when a tooth has become cracked or is breaking apart to restore strength to the biting surface. Crowns are used in cases of extreme decay when the surface of the tooth needs to be replaced. They are also used to replace the tooth surface after root canal procedures.

For cosmetic purposes, tooth-colored fillings are available to fill areas that have been drilled for cavities. Composite fillings offer a more natural appearance than the typical amalgam fillings (silver) and are strong and durable. At Beach Dental, we encourage fewer cavities through preventative dentistry, but when necessary, we provide white resin fillings to restore the tooth surface.
